Our own Michelle Colvard wins 2009 national pageant!
The Ms. Wheelchair Texas Foundation is proud to announce that Ms.
Wheelchair America 2009 is our very own Michelle Colvard. The National
Pageant was held in our Nation's Capitol and included outstanding
representatives from across the country. Michelle was crowned on the
eighteenth anniversary of President George Bush signing the Americans with
Disabilities Act. Texas is thrilled that during her reign, Michelle will
carry her message of physical fitness for persons with disabilities on

About Ms. Wheelchair Texas
In 1972, an Ohio physician was aware of the talent capabilities, determination, and courage of people with disabilities. He established Ms. Wheelchair America as a forum for the promotion of the achievements as well as the needs of mobility impaired persons. The non-profit program is staffed and coordinated by volunteers throughout the country dedicated to increasing public awareness so that all its citizens will be able to lead productive and meaningful lives.

Ms. Wheelchair Texas 2008
Staci L. Moss was born in Amarillo, TX and was diagnosed with chondrodysplasia punctata soon after. A 1994 graduate of Andrews High School in Andrews, Texas, she went to Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas to complete her pre-pharmacy requirements. She was graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy with her doctorate in pharmacy in May 2002.

Sydney Horak of West Columbia, diagnosed at age one with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (type II), is a five year old who never meets a stranger and greets everyone with a smile on her face.
